Handi-Pin® was originally developed as a tool for people with hidden disabilities--brain injury, multiple sclerosis, ADHD, chronic back pain, etc.--and their caregivers.
After a severe stroke, my husband, Anthony, suffered from aphasia - difficulty with speech. He also lost most of his vision. But at thirty-five years of age, Anthony did not look disabled. Frustrated with constantly having to explain the need for this or that accommodation, I came up with the idea of Handi-Pin®. Like magic, we would request whatever accommodation was required and - no questions asked - it would be provided.
